The Jamestown Regional Airport had 936 passenger boardings in December and 8,642 total boardings for 2015, the Jamestown Regional Airport Authority announced at its Wednesday meeting.
Passenger boardings are also up 128 percent from last year at the airport. The only other airports in the state that were up in passenger boardings in 2015 were Devils Lake Regional Airport, which was up 76 percent, and the Bismarck Municipal Airport, up 6 percent, said Samuel Seafeldt, airport manager at the Jamestown airport and treasurer of the Airport Authority.
"It's all about service, passengers and community," said Jim Boyd, Airport Authority chairman. "The community is supporting this airport big time."
In other business, the Airport Authority unanimously voted to add a second wall-mount panel to provide better cellphone service to passengers.
"It will boost data and cellular service," Seafeldt said.
The additional cost of the new panel is about $400, which does not include labor costs. The total cost of the project to implement two wall-mount panels is $1,929.50, according to an estimate from Jamestown Communications Inc.
The Airport Authority also unanimously elected to keep its board of officers the same as 2015, with Boyd as chairman, Jeff Wilhelm as vice president and Seafeldt as treasurer.
